I also am getting private investment lessons from my mentor which is really helping me better understand not only the investment world but the business world as well. So far we have discussed the feds new plan with QE2 and the general state of the economy. He sent me home with some hw to learn more about ETF (exchange traded funds) and an article that was written by his good friend David Rosenberg.
A side note about my mentor, he recently sent one of his reports to John Bogel who is the founder of the Vanguard group and was sent back a hand written letter from John himself. Along with that note another one of his reports was published in business insider.com if you want to read part of the report the link is as follows. Matt,
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you are getting noticed by other business people -- building your professional network now, before you graduate, is key to getting a solid launch on your career (especially in a weak economy!).

Matt it sounds like you and your mentor have established a great relationship. That is awesome, it helps so much and makes everyday so much easier on the job. My mentor is great too, she recently graduated from Champlain so she understands what I'm going through right now because she was just here. It makes it easier to learn from someone you respect and get along with in the work place, especially when internships like this can be intimidating because you don't want to mess anything up. I find it's so important to just keep asking questions because even if you are 99% sure, it shows that you care and are invested in the project when you take the time to ask. Sounds like everything is going well for you!
